Gray’s Upcoming Plans

It appears David Gray has been back at work in the studio. While he released a few compilation albums last year, his last set of new recordings came out in 2005. The following short interview has him speak about some of his upcoming plans. The poster on YouTube titles it as information about a “comeback”, which is odd because he didn’t go away. He has been touring consistently and keeping up the communication on his website. This forthcoming album will be his first prominent venture without long time drummer Clune. It will be interesting to see how things work out with this new direction. He also speaks about a new focus, or a return to a previous focus at least. This is could be exciting, as he is one of the best lyricists out there. His early work is some of his best, and a place where there is more contemplation about social balance, while his later songs seem to have been about personal balance.
Hopefully a new album means it won’t be long before he returns to this neck of the woods. The interview – short and to the point – follows here:
